A chrome denture replaces missing teeth using a slim cast metal framework instead of a thick acrylic plate. The result is a partial denture that feels lighter, sits more securely against your natural teeth and leaves far more of your palate uncovered. The Mobile Denture Repair Company has been crafting and fitting chrome cobalt dentures for over 30 years, and we come to you at home across London, Sutton, Surrey and the South East.

Break a chrome denture today and in most cases you will be wearing it again today.
A qualified technician arrives at your home, so you never have to be seen without your denture.
Three decades of crafting, fitting and repairing chrome dentures across the South East.
Chrome dentures, also called cobalt chrome dentures or chrome cobalt partial dentures, are built around a precision-cast metal framework rather than a moulded acrylic base. Because cobalt chromium alloy is so strong, that framework can be made under a millimetre thick, where an acrylic plate typically needs two to three millimetres to hold its shape. That difference is what patients notice first.
Small metal clasps rest against your remaining natural teeth to hold the denture in place. Wherever the shape of your mouth allows it, we position these clasps on the back teeth so they stay out of sight when you talk and smile.
Compared with an acrylic partial denture, a chrome denture usually feels less bulky, moves less and lasts longer, which is why many patients switch after living with acrylic for a few years. Acrylic still has its place, though. It costs less, it can be added to more easily if you lose another tooth, and it is often the sensible choice as a temporary or transitional denture.Chrome is not automatically right for everyone.
You need enough healthy natural teeth in the right positions for the clasps to grip, so a full upper chrome denture is only suitable in certain cases. Clasps can occasionally be visible depending on where your gaps sit, and a small number of people react to nickel traces in some alloys. We talk all of this through honestly at your assessment before anything is made, because a denture that suits your mouth matters far more than the material it is made from.
A chrome framework rarely snaps, but clasps loosen, teeth come away from the base and accidents happen at the worst possible moment. You do not have to wait days.
If your chrome denture has cracked, a clasp has bent or it suddenly feels loose, call us straight away. We also handle denture relining and additions when the fit has drifted rather than broken.
A chrome denture is only as good as the fit. Get it wrong and you get sore spots, gum irritation and a denture that shifts while you eat. Get it right and you stop thinking about it.
Because a chrome denture is a partial denture, we start with an oral health assessment by a dentist to check that the teeth taking the clasps are sound. We can arrange this at our partner practices, Sherwood Park Dental in Sutton or Alan Wilson Dentistry in Epsom, with early morning, evening and weekend appointments available.
Our fitting process includes:
Shade matching matters as much as engineering here. We match the artificial teeth to the ones you still have and check the result against your lip line and facial balance, so the denture reads as part of your smile rather than an addition to it.
A single chrome-based denture is currently £1,450. Full pricing for our clinical work is listed on our Clinical Services, and payment options are available. If you are still weighing up materials, our Flexi Dentures and Partial Dentures set out the alternatives, and All-on-4 Implant Dentures covers implant-retained options where a dentist has advised that route.
Chrome dentures reward a simple daily routine. Ten minutes a day protects both the appliance and the natural teeth holding it in place.
Clean with a soft denture brush and a non-abrasive denture cleaner. Toothpaste is too harsh and will scratch the surface.
Use a denture cleansing solution to lift plaque and bacteria. Avoid boiling water and household bleach, which can damage the metal.
Leaving your denture out overnight gives your gums time to recover and lowers the risk of soreness and infection.
Your mouth changes over time. Routine checks catch a loosening clasp before it becomes an emergency.
No two mouths need the same framework. Every chrome denture we make is designed around the teeth you have, not a standard template.
We consider:
The framework design itself changes with the case. An upper chrome denture might use a horseshoe or a narrow palatal strap to leave the roof of the mouth as open as possible, while a lower chrome denture usually runs a slim lingual plate or bar behind the front teeth where it stays hidden. Choosing between these is the part that takes experience, and it is the difference between a denture you tolerate and one you forget you are wearing.
We come to you throughout Epsom, Sutton, Kingston, Croydon, Wimbledon, Ewell, Worcester Park, Morden, Cheam and central London, with wider coverage across Surrey and the South East.

A single chrome-based denture is £1,450 with us. Prices elsewhere in the UK typically run from around £900 to £2,000 depending on the case and the number of teeth involved. Full details are on our Clinical Services and payment options are available.
For most partial cases, yes. A chrome denture is thinner, stronger, more stable and covers less of the palate. Acrylic costs less and is easier to add to, so it can be the better choice as a temporary denture or where few natural teeth remain.
Yes. The clasps grip your natural teeth and bite forces spread across your teeth rather than your gums, so most patients eat comfortably. Start with softer food for the first week or so while you adapt.
Metal-framework dentures can be provided on the NHS where clinically necessary, but availability varies by practice and it is not guaranteed. Our chrome dentures are provided privately, which means full control over design, materials and timescales.
In most cases, yes. Cracked frameworks, bent clasps and detached teeth can usually be repaired, and we offer same-day mobile repairs across London and the South East. See our 24hr Emergency Denture Repair for urgent cover.
